The changing face of modern residential architecture

The evolving culture of architecture in modern world, both as a lifestyle and as a living, has been game changing. In regard to lifestyle, it was never predicted the degree to which architecture and design could influence the society and culture we live in, nor did it was forecasted how intensely symbolic of our beliefs and attitudes they’d be. As a profession, the big wave of development and technology that compelled us to try and ape everything that didn’t belong to us, has made us question and search for our own identity and provoked us to revisit the solid traditional roots and foundation of Indian architecture.

The ‘architect’ has obviously lost the writing and exclusivity s/he once had—a comment that might be visible not only in India but in the profession all across the globe. At present, the cooperative role of architecture instead depends on developers, clients, different consultants, and foreign businesses, somewhere pacifying the voice of the architect.

Speaking for the profession in India, it is necessary that the role of Texas architect be recognized more strongly, particularly in the planning of cities. The government’s massive city decoration drive, which aims to develop sustainable and citizen-friendly cities all over the nation, has done very petite to include architectural voices into the conversation. Same stands for our heritage structures that are being substituted by modern residential architecture despite resistance shown by a contemporary architect.

Architects are indulging in social movements and challenging public dialogues to curb the disconnect between what people look for and what is being given to them.
The booming economy and population have caused great housing needs, driving the extent of architectural work and generating great opportunities in the nation. It is also one of the causes why the number of modern residential architecture firms working has increased. In the aftermath of cities burdened by the lack of infrastructure, the opportunity to design and make a difference has become huge.
