The basics of modern architecture are very clear and feasible. Its ever-present attitude stands to the perfection that creates function. Thus, contemporary architect expresses itself through ease, clear views of structural elements and by avoiding needless design details. 

The elements— modern and contemporary — have been conjoined in the design world, leading to a bit of confusion. A type of confusion that compels us to ask: Is contemporary architecture/design the same as modern architecture/design? The answer is no, and somewhat yes.  To be very specific, contemporary means today, while modern architecture related to technological and engineering evolutions that refer to the turn of the 20th Century.

According to a leading contemporary architect, a misunderstanding that critics often have of today’s architecture is that it’s calm and cold. However, the opposite could be contended.  A large number of modern designs boast of elements that are inherently warm and attractive, such as wood and stone.
